Entry Form For 2008-2009 Student Essay Contest Submissions
The LLP Dept. will select up to three of the best papers in the following categories: 1101, 1102, 2000-level classes, upper-level classes, foreign languages, and philosophy. Creative writing samples should be directed to Calliope.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
Friday, March 6, 2009 by 5pm.
SUBMISSION PROCEDURES:
Please submit essays online to Nancy.Remler@Armstrong.edu (Please do not attempt to submit entries from this website. Please submit from your e-mail account).
In the subject heading of the e-mail message, please type "Essay Contest Submission."
In the message section of the e-mail message, please include the author's name and student ID number, the title of the essay, the course for which the essay was written, the instructor's name, the author's contact information including mailing address, e-mail address and phone number(s).
Attach to the message the essay submission. The essay must be saved as a .doc (Microsoft Word) or .rft (Rich Text Format) file.
Instructors may attach the assignment guidelines to the message as well, or they may submit those under separate cover to Nancy Remler in 202B Gamble.
CONTEST RULES:
Read this section carefully, for application packets must be complete in order to be reviewed. Papers can be from Spring 2008 through Spring 2009 classes. No one student is eligible to submit twice in one category; however, students may submit and win in more than one category. No single essay can win an award in both the University Writing Contest and the LLP Dept. Essay Contest. Students will win the highest award for which they are eligible. Entries must be typed or computer-generated, stapled, and demonstrate a professional appearance. Papers must adhere to proper documentation style use, and, if applicable, a Works Cited page must be attached. Student ID numbers must appear in the upper right-hand corner on the first page of the paper. Students' and instructors' names must not appear on papers. The LLP Selection Committee will announce the winning entries at an awards ceremony, which will be held on Friday, April 25th.
