I have been an active member of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society, since 1998. Recently I participated in a panel presentation focused on popular culture criticism at the March 2000 conference here in Savannah, GA. I will be presenting a paper (a critical look at conflicting ideologies at work in the text of television's "Ally McBeal") at the organization's springtime Literary Festival in April. In February, I was part of a panel presentation concerning the state of writing centers at the Southeastern Writing Center Association's annual conference, also in Savannah. In May of 1999, I received Armstrong Atlantic State University's annual award for Outstanding English Major. I enjoy literature, the study of popular culture, black and white photography, and I am a film student and enthusiast.
