I was born and raised in Lebanon where Arabic was my first language and French was my second. I learned English after I got the US in 2005. I transferred to Armstrong in 2008 and currently I'm majored in Radiologic Sciences.
When I was in middle school, I used to complain to my mom because French was the main language for almost all the subjects we had in school such as literature, biology, chemistry, and maths. I really didn't get to feel the charm and the importance of this language until I got to high school. I realized that a deeper appreciation for life is developed anytime I expand my knowledge of other cultures. The French language is a primary or secondary language for many countries. By being able to speak French, I can open myself to potentially communicating with over 100 million other people, which will further enhance my life as I expand relationships with those people.

Faculty Advisor : Dr. Dorothée Mertz-Weigel - dorothee.mertz-weigel@armstrong.edu

I am from Strasbourg in Alsace, France . I received my PhD from The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. My areas of specialization are Medieval to Seventeenth century French literature, and the representation of melancholy in that literature. I am also interested in the integration of technology in the foreign language classroom as well as literature in French from Alsace, France.

It is my pleasure to be the faculty advisor to such a lovely and energetic group of students who care about spreading the awareness of French and Francophone studies on the AASU campus and in the Savannah area.
